ASLTUNES CAMPAIGN

JUMP ABOARD AND BECOME A BACKER, AND RECEIVE GREAT REWARDS!

Happy New Year! My name is Jade. I'm an activist, filmmaker, entrepreneur and music video producer who happened to be deaf. Friedrich Nietzsche said, "Without music, life would be a mistake." Music is a big part of many people's lives. For some, music is life and for others, it’s entertainment. However, for some of us, we often felt taken for granted. Consumers with different type of hearing loss everywhere do not have access to music.  While the New Year has just arrived, everyone is looking forward to new change! I know my team is!

We hope the new year will bring change for those who have been deprived from some certain technology: An app, ASLTUNES™ that will give people with hearing loss and the sign language consumers an opportunity to finally have access to music video incorporate in American Sign Language and music tracks that can also be incorporated with live lyrics from their portable devices, like an iPhone, iPad, etc.

I don't know what to tell you, but I do not see anyone making that happen. I've been working on this idea for five years now. Many people think of this as an impossible business venture. Well, they are wrong! I've done my homework. I know numbers. I know exactly what we need. Napoleon Bonaparte said, "Impossible is a word found only in the dictionary for fools." Please don't be like them. We need believers. If it's not out there in the market for us, then I usually invent or develop the concept. Second, the makers in the music and technology industry are too busy trying to stay afloat among the top Fortune 500 companies to even pay attention to such a small disenfranchised niche market: the 36 million Deaf and Hard of hearing consumers.

My team and I need your support to make ASLTUNES™ happen. We just launched a Kickstarter campaign a couple days ago. Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands. Our fundraising goal is $50,000. However, we’ve set a target for $25,000 this way we surpass it and shoot for another $25,000 more, all within 57 days until February 24th. Typically, it costs $2,500 and up to license a song. Then we hire our talents, rent the locations, shoot the production, where we produce a music video of that song and incorporate it in ASL. We have a goal to produce at least 10 music videos for the year 2012. The more funds we collected, the better our chance of producing more professional quality music videos. Not to mention, hire an app and program developer so that the music videos can be downloaded from our app store.

Brilliant idea, right? Talk is easy. Now, all we need is some action. Will you help? Will you collaborate with us? We offer attractive incentives when you back this idea. While ASLTUNES™  is a project of Jade Films and Entertainment, LLC,  a small independent company in it's early startup phase, we offer tax-exempt donation through our not-for-profit organization, DEAFVISION FILMWORKS, for anyone who request for our federal tax I.D. number. We will also send you donation receipt once we reach the funding goal. Our organization based in NY.

Even if you cannot make a personal contribution, you will be helping us by getting the word out. You can share by posting the link to your Facebook or Stumbleupon accounts, tweet about it via Twitter, Blog about it, or email it to your friends and colleagues. Please jump aboard to learn more about ASLTUNES™ project and pledge as low as $20 or you can become an associate producer by donating $100. We welcome sponsors and endorsors, too! See what rewards you will receive when you back our campaign! Go! http://kck.st/sbNDGG

I look forward to creating positive change together and improving lives for everyone, not just for people like myself, who cannot hear.  Music brings people together. Music heals. So, let's share music from ASLtunes! Please view a video our team created three years ago: WE LOVE MUSIC TOO campaign.

Have a Happy and prosperous New Year!

High regards,

Jade

That's why as a writer, I am producing a movie by us and about us because nobody is going to do it for us. We want to attract media attention and let the   world know what we are trying to do. We're very tired of being overlooked and not having our voices heard.    (See  press release  from 2012) We're planning a Deaf Talent® Movement for change in film and TV by using hashtags support  #DEAFTALENT®, #POCDEAFTALENT, #DEAFBLACKFILM, #DEAFERSITY, or #DEAFTALENTSOFCOLOR  to spread   awareness and representation about our film, The Double Life of Zhane Rain, written by first...

The Co-option of Deaf Talent® Movement (2012)©

The  Deaf Talent ®  Movement, founded by the first Black Deaf Filmmaker/Activist,  Jade Bryan  in 2012, is a social and cultural icon centralized on  spreading awareness  about the lack of representation of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) in television and film. However, Black Deaf actors, writers, producers, and Black Deaf stories are the most overlooked in getting recognition in film and television. This movement began on multiple online and real-life platforms, starting with social media. Jade Bryan created a social media platform by using Twitter and Facebook to spread awareness of the need for better representation in television and film before moving her movement to the streets. (See press release from 2012) A close-knit of Black and POC Deaf Activists from the Deaf community and actors cast in Jade Bryan’s film, The Shattered Mind , (formerly known as The Double Life of Zhane Rain ), met up and campaigned in the streets. The movement ...
