(Event date: March 29, 2024)
The event at the Museum of Moving Image in Queens last night was a truly unforgettable experience. I was blown away by the talent and creativity of the filmmakers on the spectrum, and I appreciated the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences and perspectives. Highlighting the evening was Tony Goldwyn, a renowned actor and producer, who shared his expertise and insights with the filmmakers. Christina Curry, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, also presented and provided valuable information about the resources available to support individuals with disabilities, making the event a truly inclusive and informative experience. Marvels of Media Festival Opening Night
The Marvels of Media Festival kicks off with a festive opening night celebration and recognizes outstanding films created by autistic media-makers with screenings, panel discussions, and media workshops. Audience members will have a chance to learn from professional filmmakers on the spectrum through media workshops and panel discussions.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with filmmakers Dani Bowman, Tal Anderson, Kory Mann, Violet Gallo, and Jeremy Andrew Davis, moderated by filmmaker-playwright Jackson Tucker-Meyer, about telling romantic stories and queer and autistic representation in film.

Jane Norman hosted the World Deaf Cinema Festival in 2010. She invited me to share the space with Tony’s father, Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. Samuel passed away in 2015. Jane transited in 2020. May they rest in peace. The photos from WDC2010 were tagged to me by Bruce Gross, so I am posting them here.
